Koya san's discovery

Everybody has been to Koya san.  Well,... until a week ago, everybody... except me. Why it took so long is a thought provoking mistery.

Some places fascinate in an immediate and obvious fashion. You visit them the moment you find out about them in a one night stand manner that is wild and exciting but essentially short term minded.

Other exert their attraction at a slower pace, grow on you through their yet un-fulfilled presence and it sometimes take years until you finally materialize the passion by visiting them. As if their imposing selves were scary, intimidating in a way.

The longer you wait, the larger the expectation grows. A 2 edged sword that can either turn into a revelation, or a major disapointment.

To make a long story short, I'll just say that Koya san didn't disapoint.

Beginnings...

It had to start some day, and this day appears to be today...

Well, it's a wonderful feeling to join the huge community of those who wrote and are mostly never read!

Well, for friends I guess, a bit like those emails I used to write every few months to keep in touch, to give some visibility about how things are around here in Tokyo.

Good point, but how about these friends who can't read French? Are they sub-friends? Com'on, who cares about the language, isn't it the content that matters this time?

> Is this blog only about photography?

No, of course not. But photography is yet another means to convey messages, so much more powerful than text in many ways.
